Taylor Lima CPDT-KA
Taylor got her start in dog training at the age of 12 when her parents adopted a young Black Lab mix that had practically every behavioral problem in the book. Since Taylor begged her parents to get the dog, she got the responsibility of training her and quickly fell in love with dog training.
Taylor has been working with dogs in a professional setting for over a decade. After apprenticing under a few veteran trainers, she was offered a position working with well-known trainer Kris Crestejo of Modern Canine Training. While working at Modern Canine, Taylor became a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and Certified Trick Dog Instructor. In 2016, she started her own dog walking business working exclusively with reactive dogs, and eventually expanded her services to offer both private and group dog training classes.
When she relocated back to her home state of Connecticut after living in Vancouver for five years, Taylor joined the team here at Tails.
Taylor is an avid dog sport competitor, who currently competes with her dogs in scent work, agility, rally obedience, barn hunt, lure coursing sports, dock diving, and competition obedience. She considers herself a true dog nerd, and tries to attend every workshop, conference, and seminar she can. Taylor is also a professional member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, as well as a Canine Good Citizen & Trick Dog evaluator with the AKC.
She and her husband share their home with five dogs- a German Shepherd, two terrier mixes, a Golden Retriever, and a Whippet.
